It’s a Black moon rising…on the 18th of Feb

Hi everyone,

It’s been an incredibly Uranian (here implying full of new stuff, surprises—sometimes I forget not everyone knows astro-speak) month for me in this rural and tranquil corner of Goa.

Just in case you’ll are wondering, I didn’t eventually get that root canal I mentioned in the last episode. A compatriot holistic practitioner Paula Horan, who’s been researching dental health for the past two years was most alarmed after reading and recommended I cease and desist.

So, if you’ve been reading me carefully, you would remember that husband and I arrived here in November after he quit his job in England and we started planning a new life based around afternoon power naps and vodka with coconut water as main evening cocktail. No sooner had we settled into a restful routine he was offered a job, once again in London’s Canary Wharf, and after much soul searching, & Tarot reading he bid a rueful adieu to the green paddy fields, and accepted the said job!

So now he’s back in dear old Blighty while I finish off the last of the chores, get a manicure and follow.

In the interim, for some very inexplicable reason, I decided to utilize my remaining time in a more holistic manner and signed up for an Ayurvedic detox.

Not yet certain as to the global benefits of the exercise of purging for 6 hours but I am almost over the fear of drinking half a cup of melted, medicated ghee for three consecutive days!!

The other thing that’s thrilled me deeply is the shocking (because of the spectacular scale) win by AAP ( a new, passionate, vibrant political party in India) against the unassailable Narendra Modi of the “beautiful face’, as described by a really foolish supporter. I had campaigned for the party last year but more on that another day.

So all in all, the Aquarius new moons (the second one on the 18th of Feb) are living up to their expectation of nudging you out of the predictable.

This next New moon will also be referred by various sources as Super and Black. I will explain briefly so you can then knowledgeably share forth with all.

Both these terms have their origins in astrology so naturally scoffed at by the more scientifically narrow minded. Supermoon is when the moon is closest to earth or in Perigee..Black moon is when there are either two new moons in the same zodiacal sign, or 3rd of 4th new moon in the current season (December solstice to March equinox).

Perigee moons or supermoons create unusually high tides and so I will definitely be patrolling the beach with my phone/camera and report back.

As I’ve always gone on about how what’s outside is what’s inside, as above, so below—I think this Black Moon could have interesting significance.

Although this new moon is technically in the last degree of aquarius, it is within a few minutes of going into Pisces on the 19th. It’s like if you were entering a room and had one foot in the threshold, so there could be a last bit of Aquarian insight before we flow into the watery, Piscean month ruled by the god Poseidon. Pisces is also the last sign in the zodiac and if you follow the natural cycles of the universe, then it is also the time for dissolution, of endings, of merging with something bigger and more numinous rather than holding on tightly to our nervous little selves. Which can be scary to our nervous little selves or deeply re-assuring if we surrender and trust and have faith in spirit and nature—as the photo above so beautifully captures. (pic sent by one Titiksha).

The coming month’s energies would be very supportive if you wanted to strengthen the right brain, your intuition—so paint, draw, do dream work, play the piano and such. As I write this, occurs to me that yesterday, I suddenly signed up for a river cruise to go bird watching (which is also entirely new activity for me) on the 18th—thereby doing both Aq and Pisces in one shot and that too exactly on the New Moon! I feel thrilled and can’t wait to see what emerges.

On the 3rd of March Jupiter trines Uranus in Fire signs, suggesting that a few weeks around this date surprising, huge opportunities may come up, especially if it aspects your chart and if you allow yourself to be outrageous and bold and go with the flow, it might unblock the way ahead for you. The image I have is of the AAP leader Arvind (described as an anarchist), electrified, scared and disbelieving himself of the absolute determination with which Delhi voters have brought him to power.

The last of the Uranus Pluto square on the 17th of March is also equally descriptive of the spectacular AAP win. Uranus is the god who rules rebellion, anarchy. Pluto is Power. Jupiter is Possibilities—among a lot of other things.

On the 14th of March, Saturn goes retrograde, ‘going backwards’, making a last dive back into scorpio for the next 28 or so years. He will re-enter Sagittarius on the 18th of September and stay in the sign for over two years.

The next 3-4 months might be a good time to laser through all the seductive and toxic chains that have been keeping you stuck in rage, despair, hate and all manner of dark and negative feelings.

In other words, if you’ve had a long standing grouse against someone or something, it’s a good time to go through some last round of delicious murderous fantasies then do some energy work, some cleansing, let it go fully. Don’t stay stuck in it any more. Move on, move forward into new possibilities. Permanently Erase the trash.

So in summation, Release, Cleanse, Surrender especially for the next month and while in this liminal zone, Connect to spirit and plan a new beginning which can then be launched in the next New Moon on March 20th.

Stay deeply Blessed and much Love.

Neo

PS. I leave for England on the 23th of February.
